In this blog, we will discuss What Test Case Management Tools have you used. Before diving into that, it's important to understand what test cases are, the various components included in a test case, and which tools are suitable for writing and managing these test cases.

Test case:

• A set of actions to validate the application's functionality.
• It describes the steps.
• Test cases contain a set of instructions in the form of steps to verify whether the working of application functionality is as per the client-specified requirements
• Test cases are created inside a document like Excel or inside test management tools like Jira etc.
• Test case means How to be tested and test scenario means what needs to be tested.

• Test Data
• Expected result

• Comment

Now, let's move on to the main question: What test case management tools have you used in your previous organization? This interview question can be approached in various ways. I will answer this question based on the tools I have used throughout my software testing journey.

I have used :

• Jira + zephyr
• VersionOne

Popular ones/Best Test case management tool:

• Jira + zephyr
• Jira +XRay
• TestRail
• VersionOne
• ALM
• TestLink
• Bugzilla
• qTest

Zephyr and Xpay : these are the plugin which we have to use on the top of the JIRA. Jira does not have by default test case management abilities. If you want to write the test case then we have to use these plugin.

In market, qtest, TestLink, Test rail etc are free test case management tools But Jira etc are paid test case management tool.
