 What is functional testing?

In this article, we will discuss another interview question i.e. what is functional testing? So lets start

Functionality is nothing but the behaviour of the application for example login functionality, search functionality, logout functionality, etc.

Functional testing is performed to verify the working of the application

In functional testing, we often focus on Client specification

In functional testing, we focus on User needs and requirements. We will test whether the application meets the customer's needs and requirements.

Functional test cases can be automated to improve efficiency.

Functional test cases can be tested manually using any automation tools

In functional testing, we used various testing techniques like boundary value analysis, decision table testing, error guessing, state transition, equivalence class partitioning, etc

Testing types which falls into functional testing
