 What is Acceptance Testing? (Software Testing Interview Question #15)
Four levels:
- Unit testing
- Integration Testing
- System testing
- Acceptance Testing
Acceptance testing:
User acceptance testing (UAT), also called application testing or end-user testing, is a phase of software development in which the software is tested in the real world by its intended audience. Â
Acceptance testing is testing performed by the potential end-user or customers to check if the software conforms to the business requirements and can be accepted for use.
Types of Acceptance testing:
- Alpha Acceptance testing
- Beta acceptance testing
Alpha testing:
It is a type of acceptance testing.
An internal team will perform this testing
Focus on end User's needs and expectation
First perform the Alpha testing followed by Beta testing.
The internal team will move to the development site or remotely do the testing.
Beta Testing
Performed after the Alpha testing
Limited end users will perform this testing
After the Beta testing , the final release will be done.
